Redwood

European Redwood, also known as Scots Pine or Scandinavian Redwood, is known for its quality and is very common in most areas of joinery, it is available in a number of grades with unsorted being the highest. It is sourced from Scandinavia and Russia and is widely available in both FSC & PEFC certification.

The timber is light in colour. The sapwood tends to be a creamy-white to yellow colour and the heartwood slightly darker to a reddish-brown colour.

Scandinavian Redwood is a resinous timber and can sometimes extrude resin, this can be easily dealt with.
