Penzance is a port town located in the shelter of Mount’s Bay, Cornwall. This traditional Cornish fishing village has been a popular holiday destination for tourists for many years, steeped in history while providing all the facilities of modern life for its residents and visitors.
S F Developers were tasked with constructing a home that overlooked Mount’s Bay, with the aim of building a property that would compliment its surroundings and be in keeping with the existing properties. A key component used to achieve this was timber cladding, however, the customer wanted to avoid the un-even weathering associated with un-treated timber.
SiOO:X was proposed to the customer due to its ability to maintain an even weathering effect and allowing the timber to weather to a lovely silver-grey patina. Siberian Larch was the chosen timber species due to its extreme durability and was machined to a planed square edge board with a re-sawn face which adds further character and texture to the timber.
The timber was then processed by ourselves in SiOO:X Light Grey which gives a weathered appearance from the factory.
