Accoya

Accoya is a modified timber which offers unmatched durability and dimensional stability, making it suitable for a range of coating systems.

Accoya is created when a fast growing timber species is modified using a process called acetylation. This process is completely non-toxic and introduces no chemicals that are not already found in the timber. During the modification process the chemical structure of the timber is modified from the surface to the core.

Surface Finishes

Accoya can be coated with a range of surface finishes such as; planed, sawn and structured depending on the coating system chosen. For more information please see our Surface Finishes page.

Coating and Treatments

If left uncoated, Accoya will naturally weather. We offer a range of coating systems for Accoya in order to meet a range of design requirements. Due to the stability of Accoya it is well suited to opaque and translucent coating systems. If a more natural finish is required then a wood stain coating offers just that.
